Moonshine and The Tail of the Dragon

Pigeon Forge, TN…. (PigeonForgee) it’s now a term we use to describe the places we rather not go. Why? well.. because if you have not been there yet, it’s great for families but not so much for us. We thought we (or at least I was, since I take the blame for this one) were headed towards a small mountain town, just like Asheville or Boone on the North Carolina side but in Tennessee. Nope.. Pigeon Forge was something we never experienced before.. just driving in we saw this “Vegas-Like” feel but for families of course, a plethora of amusement like rides and businesses, way too many Minature Golf, Go-Karts and all the food you could think of… we just wanted to stay away…  Gatlingburg, TN was still pretty touristy but not as bad, at least there we enjoyed our first moonshine tasting.. free.. but beware, there are a few places that you can have tastings at, so be choosy and don’t drink them all.. they do share horror stories with you if you ask them :O

My parents came to visit so we took them to the Old Mill Restaurant in Pigeon Forge, too much fun and touristy but still cool to see. Then later in the month my brother came to visit as well but this time we managed to check off one of my bucket list items, to ride our motorcycle through “The Tail of the Dragon” which is famous for its 318 curves in 11 miles!
